Fenestration you ask?

It is the arrangement, proportioning, and design of windows and doors in a building.

The Fenestration Manufacturers Association (FMA) provides effective representation in the building code development processes and government affairs .

Code Representation

FMA and its members participate in the code development and adoption process of the International Code Councils family of codes including the IRC, IBC and IECC. We also participate in the adoption of state building codes and the amendment process.

Protocol Development

FMA and its members take an active role in developing or improving installation protocols through the committee process.  We are active participants in the Florida Building Commission, Florida Product Approval Program and the TDI Product Evaluation Program.

Research

FMA is an active participant in the Wind Driven Rain (WDR) research ongoing with the University of Florida.  The research objective is to measure our installation protocols with the overall performance of the window/wall system.

Governmental Affairs

What truly makes FMA different from other fenestration associations is our approach to advocacy. FMA provides the conduit to legislators and state agency policymakers to affect positive change on issues concerning our members and our industry. The FMA difference is our understanding of the legislative process and the power of effective lobbying. Your FMA membership provides you with a "place at the table".

We invite you to join FMA today and become an active participant in affecting the rules by which you do business.
